Cookie Policy

Postcrow sets only the cookies strictly needed to operate the Service plus one functional preference. We do not run third-party advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or fingerprinters.

The cookies we set

better-auth.session_token — essential

  • Purpose — keeps you signed in. Without it the Service cannot function.
  • Content — an opaque random token issued by better-auth. No personal data is in the cookie itself.
  • Name in production — prefixed __Secure-better-auth.session_token when served over HTTPS.
  • Lifetime — 30 days; refreshed on use.
  • Flags — HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure in production.
  • Legal basis — strictly necessary, no consent required under ePrivacy.

postcrow_lang — functional

  • Purpose — remembers your interface language preference (English or French) so we render the right copy on first paint, including for server-rendered pages.
  • Content — the literal string en or fr.
  • Lifetime — 1 year.
  • Flags — readable by client and server, SameSite=Lax.
  • Legal basis — strictly necessary for the preference you set.

Stripe checkout / customer portal — essential when billing

  • Purpose— when you start a paid trial, you are redirected to Stripe's checkout page (and later to Stripe's customer portal). Stripe sets its own cookies on its own domain to handle payment. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's cookie policy.
  • Where — on checkout.stripe.com and billing.stripe.com, not on postcrow.app.

What we do NOT set

  • No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any other analytics cookie.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads, etc.).
  • No social media share-button cookies.
  • No third-party iframes that set their own cookies.

Third-party cookies on connected platforms

When you click Connect Facebook, Connect LinkedIn, etc., you are sent to the third party's domain to authorize Postcrow. That domain may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Once you return to postcrow.app, only our cookies apply.

Managing cookies

Because the cookies we set on postcrow.app are only essential and functional, there is no consent banner. You can clear cookies from your browser settings at any time; clearing the better-auth session cookie will log you out, and clearing postcrow_lang will reset the interface language to English.

Changes

We will update this page and surface a notice at the top of the Service if we ever add a new cookie (for example, error monitoring or product analytics).
